This site is the result of my quest to learn about our family history which started 
in the Spring of 1990 after reading Jubliee by Maragret Walker. The book was a 
collection of stories told to Mrs. Walker by her grandmother. Prior to reading the 
book, I often dreamt of digging into our genealogy and of learning the experiences, 
successes and barriers our ancestors had to overcome in their attempt to make this 
world a better place for us. In addition, I wanted to know their names, occupations, 
values, beliefs, birthplaces, and all their stories. So I began talking to the elders 
and writing down everything they could remembered of our roots. I searched the 
libraries, archives and courthouses looking for records that documented the 
experiences of our family.

Although the quest is far from over, please enjoy what I have discovered so far about 
our family. And consider this a bridge to our ancestors, for our own self-knowldge 
and for the benefit of the generations not yet born.
